Turkey is nearing the exhaustion of the EU's quota for HRC imports for the third quarter

Starting from the last month of the EU quota period from July 1 to September 30, some import quotas for certain steel products allocated to countries such as South Korea, Taiwan, Egypt, China and some other countries have already been exhausted, according to the latest data from the European Commission. The quota for the use of 402,732 metric tons of HRC (1A) in Turkey has reached 99.98 percent, with only 2,740 metric tons of quota remaining.

In addition, Turkey, Vietnam, and Japan have exhausted their quota of 21,207 tons for metal-coated (4B) sheets allocated to "other countries."

Use of quotas on Turkish imports to the EU for products in the third quarter

Looking at other exhausted quotas, Taiwan has used up its entire quota of 113,428 tons for metal-coated (4A) sheets, while it has exceeded its quota of 23,037 tons for organic-coated sheets, with 2,178 tons awaiting customs clearance. China has exhausted its quota of 141,949 tons for trade bars and light sections and its quota of 17,563 tons for rebar allocated under "other countries". South Korea used up its entire quota of 71,880 tons for organic coated sheets, while Egypt exhausted its quota of 15,255 tons for wire rod allocated under "other countries."
