Scrap metal imports to Turkey decreased by 6.1 percent in January-July 2025

In July of this year, the volume of scrap imports to Turkey decreased by 7.7 percent year-on-year and increased by 21.8 percent month-on-month to 1.47 million metric tons, according to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports amounted to $540.75 million, a decrease of 17.6% year-on-year and an increase of 18.9% month-on-month.

For the first seven months of the yearimport of scrap metal to Turkeyamounted to 10.85 million tons, which is 6.1% less, while the value of these imports decreased by 16.4% to $4.10 billion, year-on-year.
