Indian company Vardhaman Special Steel limited (VSSL) announced plans to create a special steel plant worth $ 284 in partnership with the Japanese Aichi Steel Corporation (ASC). The new project is aimed at strengthening the special steel capacities of India while promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable steel production.
The upcoming plant will be located in Ludhiyan, Penjab, and will have an installed capacity of 500,000 tons per year. The company will mainly produce special steel for automotive use, serving both internal and international markets.
Production of green steel using an electric arc stove
VSSL confirmed that the new object will use the route of the electric armed furnace, What will ensure higher energy efficiency, reduction in carbon emissions, as well as a cleaner and more stable production of steel.Along with the steel -global plant, the company will also invest in a solar power plant to satisfy its full energy needs. Based on renewable energy sources, the project will give priority to the production of green steel by melting steel scrap using energy -efficient technologies.
