Operational life and strategic impact
The Bw-1 is expected to remain in service until May 2027. According to Adam Rosemus, JSW's Vice President for Technical and Operational Affairs, the project is an important step towards increasing coking coal output to 95 percent of total production.
The commissioning of the long wall coincides with operational tests on another major investment, the expansion and modernization of the Budryk Processing Plant, designed to maximize coking coal production.
Current mining activity at JSW mine
Budryk mine: two long mines in operation, seven more mines under development
JSW Group: 20 long mines currently operating at all mines
