Australian Mineral Resources has completed the first explosion at the Iron Valley quarry

Mineral Resources Limited (MinRes), a leading Australian mining and processing company, has completed the first blast at the Northern Iron Valley Quarry at its hub in the Central Pilbara. Work is currently underway to prepare the site for crushing and processing the first ore at the central Iron Valley facilities.

The Pilbara Central Hub contains 161 million tons of minerals at 57 percent Fe and 51 million tons of ore at 57.5 percent Fe (as of June 30, 2025). It includes three facilities - Iron Valley, Wonmunna and Lamb Creek - with a total capacity of 10 million tons per year, supplying iron ore to the port of Port Hedland for export.

Located 75 km northwest of Newman, Iron Valley is MinRes' oldest producing mine, acquired from BCI Minerals in June 2024. The explosion marks a new phase in his future work.
