Kametstal doubles the production of ingots on the continuous casting machine No. 1

Kametstal Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian mining and metallurgical group Metinvest, announced that its converter plant exceeded expectations, setting new production records in 2025.

Record production levels

At Kametstal's continuous casting plant No. 1 (MNLZ-1), the volume of ingot production reached a record 16,159 tons in July this year, doubling the previous year's monthly peak of 8,256 tons.

In the first eight months of 2025, the plant produced 58,433 tons of premium ingots, exceeding the entire annual volume of 2024 by more than 5,000 tons.

Equipment modernization

As part of the steelmaking equipment modernization program, Kametstal invested in the reconstruction of the MNLZ-1, the replacement of frequency converters, cable systems and software, which led to smoother casting and better traction bench performance.
