Iron ore imports to Turkey decreased by 14 percent in January-July 2025

In July of this year, Turkey's iron ore imports totaled 936,419 metric tons, down 15.5% from June and 25.9% year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, revenue from these imports amounted to $105.49 million, down 5.3% from the previous month and 29.1% year-on-year.

In the first seven months of the year, iron ore imports to Turkey amounted to 5.75 million tons, which is 14% less, while the value of these imports decreased by 29.6% to $611.70 million year-on-year.

During the specified period, Brazil was the largest source of iron ore imports to Turkey with 3.80 million tons, which is 12.9% more than in the previous year. Brazil was followed by Uzbekistan with 593,535 tons and Sweden with 330,712 tons, which is 22.5 percent and 49.9 percent less year-on-year, respectively.
