Car production in Turkey increased by 3.5 percent in January-August 2025

In August of this year, the volume of car production in Turkey amounted to 73,299 units, an increase of 37.0 percent year-on-year and a decrease of 42.9 percent month-on-month, according to monthly statistics released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Turkey (OSD). In January-August of this year, the volume of motor vehicle production in Turkey amounted to 908,299 units, an increase of 3.5 percent year-on-year.

In this month, passenger car production totaled 43,035 units, an increase of 46.4 percent, while commercial vehicle production totaled 30,264 units, an increase of 25.6 percent year-on-year. In January-August of this year, the production of passenger cars amounted to 564,482 units, a decrease of 1.2 percent, and the production of commercial vehicles amounted to 343,756 units, an increase of 12.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2024.

The total capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 41.2 percent in August, and 64.1 percent in the first eight months of the year.
