Car sales in Turkey increased by 6.6 percent in January-August 2025

In August of this year, car sales in Turkey totaled 104,893 units, down 5.4 percent from July and up 11.6 percent year-on-year, according to monthly statistics released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Turkey (OSD). In the same month, passenger car sales in Turkey totaled 82,215 units, up 18.7 percent from last year. Meanwhile, in January-August of this year, car sales in Turkey totaled 844,761 units, an increase of 6.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the first eight months of this year, car exports to Turkey totaled 682,743 units, up 6.8 percent, while passenger car exports fell 5.6 percent to 388,462 units, year-on-year. During the same period, the country exported 212,940 small trucks, which is 15.6 percent more than last year. In the specified period, revenues from total exports of motor vehicles and components increased by 12.1 percent to $26.09 billion, while revenues from exports of passenger cars totaled $7.52 billion, an increase of 10.6 percent year-on-year.

In August, total car imports to Turkey totaled 76,114 units, an increase of 10.9 percent year-on-year, while passenger car imports totaled 60,116 units, an increase of 15.9 percent year-on-year. In January-August of this year, total imports of motor vehicles to the country amounted to 603,051 units, an increase of 10.0 percent, while imports of passenger cars amounted to 462,904 units, an increase of 7.7
