Pig iron imports to Turkey increased by 61.3% in January-July 2025
According to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July of this year, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 265,373 metric tons, which is 29.1 percent more than in June and 124.7 percent more year-on-year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports amounted to $97.45 million, an increase of 33.3 percent compared to the previous month and an increase of 89.4 percent year-on-year.

In the first seven months of the year, Turkey's pig iron imports totaled 1.40 million tons, up 61.3 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 36.6 percent to $513.11 million, year-on-year.

Import of pig iron to Turkey - the last 12 months

During the specified period, Russia was the largest source of pig iron imports to Turkey, which supplied 1.04 million tons, which is 83 percent more than last year. Russia is followed by Kazakhstan with 130,546 tons, which is 46.1 percent more, and Germany with 55,997 tons, which is 125.5 percent more than last year.
