Meanwhile, shipments of hot-rolled strip to Japan totaled 1.34 million tons in July, up 11.1% from the previous month and down 6.8% year-on-year. 23.2% of the shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 76.8% were exported. In the specified month, Japan's hot-rolled strip production totaled 1.37 million tons, an increase of 16.9 percent month-on-month and a decrease of 4.6 percent year-on-year.
HRP and HRS shipments in Japan increased 0.9 percent in July 2025 compared to June
In July of this year, shipments of hot-rolled rolled products to Japan increased 0.9 percent from the previous month and decreased 6.6 percent from the 714,248 tons recorded in the same month of 2024, totaling 667,048 metric tons, according to the Japan Federation of Ferrous Metallurgy (JISF). In that month, 73.3 percent of shipments went to the domestic market, while the remaining 26.7 percent went to export markets. In this month, the production of hot-rolled rolled products in Japan amounted to 665,640 tons, an increase of 12.7 percent month-on-month and a decrease of 0.4 percent year-on-year.
