The Russian Metallurgical Plant Severstal announced the successful completion of the overhaul of hot rolled mills of 1700 and 2800 at the Chermk plant. Modernization is designed to ensure higher reliability, optimize costs and guarantee the production of high -strength steel brands, including Power Time Stamps, which are widely used in construction and mechanical engineering.
Repair work was aimed at key installations of hot rolling in the Severstal flat rolling line. According to Sergey Dobroda, the director of the Russian steel and resource assets division “Russian steel and resource assets”, the overhaul will provide long -term reliability and performance, ensuring continuous operation of the mills, despite the volatile market conditions.
The volume of the project
included the repair continuous furnaces necessary for heating the blanks before renting. Additional improvements included the removal of scraps from the furnaces and insulating the lower pipes, which will increase energy efficiency and reduce natural gas consumption.
These efforts are consistent with the Severstal strategy to reduce production costs that meet the modern requirements for steel brands, demanded by customers.
