In 2025, the total volume of shipbuilding in China will probably amount to 51 million tons of Dedweight (DWT), which is 5.85% more than in 2024, compared with 48.18 million DWT in 2024, according to Tan Naifen, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (Cansi).
Meanwhile, as of the end of this year, orders for ships at Chinese shipbuilding enterprises will probably amount to 230 million DWT, which is 10.0% more than last year, compared with 209 million DWT, registered at the end of 2024.
