In August of this year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland decreased by 3.6 percent month-on-month and by 7.4 percent year-on-year, amounting to 44,319,335 tons
. According to information released by the Port Hedland Port Authority, iron ore shipments from Port Hedland to China totaled 32.69 million tons this month, down 0.8 percent from the previous month and down five percent year-on-year. South Korea and Japan followed China in May, receiving 2.0 million tons and 1.79 million tons, respectively.
On the other hand, iron ore shipments from Port Dampier increased by 13.2% month-on-month in August this year and increased by 24.1% year-on-year to 13.85 million tons.
