Steel production in Russia in January-August of this year decreased by 5.4% compared to the same period last year, to 45.6 million tons, and in August of this year decreased by 4.5% to 5.5 million tons.

At the same time, from January to August this year, the output of rolled products decreased by 5.4%, to 40 million tons, and in August this year its production amounted to 4.9 million tons, which is 2.3% lower than the same period in 2024.

Pig iron output for eight months decreased by 1.7% year-on-year, to 33.8 million tons, but in August this year decreased by 6.8%, to 4 million tons. The production of steel pipes in January-August of this year decreased by 13.5% to 7.3 million tons, and in August of this year it amounted to 0.9 million tons, which is 18.3% lower than in the same period of 2024.
