Manganese ore supplies via Port Hedland decreased 0.3 percent in August 2025 compared to July

In August of this year, shipments of manganese ore from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 181,000 metric tons, down 0.3 percent month-on-month and up 24 percent year-on-year, according to monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

Meanwhile, China accounted for 68.8 percent of total manganese ore shipments this month, followed by India and Indonesia with 11 percent each, Malaysia with 6.1 percent and South Korea with three percent.

Port Hedland handles production at mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
