Taraba stressed that the resources come from European financing, not from the national budget, describing the appeal as a vital incentive for the Slovak industry at a time of declining investment and rising employment risks.
Eligibility for participation and evaluation
The subsidies are open to industrial companies covered by the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), which account for about 90 percent of Slovakia's industrial emissions. There are no minimum or maximum funding limits for each project.
Applications will be evaluated primarily on cost-effectiveness per ton of reduced carbon and the overall reduction achieved. To meet the requirements, projects must achieve savings of at least 10,000 tcoe compared to the five-year average of confirmed emissions, with the exception of one atypical year.
Effective and measurable climate impact
Acceptable costs include investments directly related to the implementation of the project and incurred after the application is submitted. Minister Taraba stated that the program is designed to prioritize highly effective
