A wholly owned subsidiary of NSL Green Steel Recycling."We already have an ecosystem for the supply of steel scrap. We have established a scrap metal supply chain in western India, and a similar network will now be established in the south," said a JSW representative.JSW Steel purchased about 2.25 million tons of scrap from the western region last fiscal year, with volumes continuing to grow steadily. The company is currently purchasing only ready-to-use scrap, but once the Chennai plant is operational, JSW plans to recycle lower-quality scrap that requires cleaning and processing before being used in steel production.
The new plant marks another step in JSW Steel's strategic vision to increase sustainability by expanding its internal steel processing network and increasing the share of scrap steel production in its operations.
