Passenger vehicle sales in India, as measured by shipments from manufacturers to dealers, posted a strong performance in October 2025, supported by a decline in Goods and Services Tax (GST) supported by rising demand during the festival season, according to data released by the industry on Tuesday, November 4.
At the aggregate level, total passenger vehicle sales in October 2025 are tentatively estimated at 470,227 units, with a Growth of 17.23 percent year-on-year, reaching the highest monthly volume recorded in 2025 after 405,522 units achieved in January, the data showed.
The country's largest passenger vehicle maker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India limited (MSIL), reported sales of 176,318 units, up 10.48 percent, and Mahindra & Mahindra reached 71,624 units, up 31.41 percent, both YoY.
Tata Motors limited sold 61,134 units, up 27.02 percent, while Toyota Kirloskar sold 40,257 units, up 43.07 percent YoY Kia India reported sales of 29,556 units, up 30 percent year-on-year, while Nissan Motors sold 9,675 units, up 45 percent.
The only exception was second-largest automaker Hyundai Motors India limited (HMIL), which sold 53,792 units, down 3.2 percent year-on-year. annualized
