Brazilian pig iron exports reached 354,100 tons in November, up from 460,100 tons in October, according to the foreign trade agency SECEX.
The main reason for the decline was the reduction in supplies to the United States.
November destinations were the United States (289,100 tons at $384/t), Europe (36,800 tons at US$390 per ton), Mexico (24,700 tonnes at US$399 per ton), Asia (3,400 tonnes at US$490 per ton) and Argentina (100 tonnes at US$510 per ton), all FOB.
Supplied from independent producers in the southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo. (246,800 tons), and from Maranhão and Pará in the north (107,300 tons).
These prices were likely agreed in September, with the BPI grade price in the range of $380-$400 per ton and the foundry grade price above $400 per ton.
