ArcelorMittal Acindar attributed this decision to both seasonal planning and a drop in domestic steel demand caused by a slowdown in construction and industrial activity, as well as constant pressure from steel imports, especially from China. The plant was operating at about 60 percent capacity, reflecting the general weakness of the Argentine steel market.
