Global crude steel production fell 4.6 percent year-on-year to 140.1 million tons in November this year, according to the World Steel Association.
In the first eleven months of this year, global crude steel production fell two percent year-on-year to 1.66 billion tons.
In November, steel production in Asia and Oceania was 99.9 million tons, up 7.1% less than last year. China produced 69.9 million tons, down 10.9 percent, while Japan produced 6.8 million tons, down 1.6 percent, India produced 13.7 million tons, up 10.8 percent, and South Korea produced 5 million tons, down 4.8 percent year-on-year.
EU-27 countries produced 10.2 million tons of crude steel in November, down 3.5% from last year. During this period, production in Germany amounted to 2.8 million tons, which is 2.6 percent less than the previous year. Turkey produced 3.3 million tons of steel in November, up 10 percent from the same month the previous year.
In the CIS, steel production was 6.3 million tons, down 3.9 percent year-on-year, while Russia's estimated output was 5.2 million tons, down 6.6 percent year-on-year.
In North America, steel production was 9 million tons, up 5.4 percent year-on-year, and the U.S. at 6.8 million tons, up 8.5 percent year-on-year. South American steel production in November
