In this month, consumption of finished steel in Turkey increased by 0.5 percent year-on-year to 3.65 million tons, while in the period from January to November, consumption of finished steel in the country decreased by 8.8 percent year-on-year to 35.85 million tons.
In November, steel exports from Turkey increased by 22.2 percent to 1.17 million tons, while the value of these exports increased by 9.8 percent to $774.78 million year-on-year. In the first 11 months, the country's steel exports increased by 13.3 percent to 13.71 million tons, while the value of these exports increased by 4.5 percent to $9.26 billion year-on-year. Exports of flat and long products in the period from January to November amounted to 5.93 million tons and 7.24 million tons, respectively, an increase of 11.7 percent year-on-year, while exports of semi-finished products amounted to 541,363 tons.
In November, steel imports to Turkey decreased by 3.5 percent to 1.75 million tons, while the value of these imports changed. It decreased by 5.2 percent to $1.14 billion year-on-year. In the period from January to November, steel imports into the country increased by 11.8 percent, to 17.39 million tons, and the value of these imports increased by 0.9 percent, to 12.06 billion dollars, in both cases year-on-year. As for imported products, imports of flat and long products in the first 11 months amounted to 8.34 million tons and 1.36 million tons, respectively, an increase of 12.6 percent and 11.7 percent year-on-year, while imports of semi-finished products amounted to 7.69 million tons
. In the first 11 months, the ratio of Turkey's steel exports to imports increased to 76.83 percent, compared with 74.17 percent recorded in the same period of the previous year.
According to TCUD, between January and November 2025, Turkey's import growth was driven by China, which is seeking to redirect its excess production to international markets, as well as Russia, whose exports increased due to lower domestic consumption and sanctions.,
