According to local media reports, Victor Manuel Aguilera Gomez, the trustee in charge of the bankruptcy process of Altos Hornos de Mexico steel mill (AHMSA), has officially requested an extension of up to 30 days to publish a request for proposals related to the company's asset auction process.
Extension request and judicial context
According to the bankruptcy trustee's request, the extension will apply to the publication of the request for proposals, originally scheduled for January this year, as previously reported by SteelOrbis, as well as to subsequent dates of the auction process. Gomez stressed that this adjustment would not mean the suspension or cancellation of the procedure previously allowed by the federal judicial system, but only a limited revision of the established schedule.
According to a statement from Aguilera Gomez, the requested extension is intended to ensure the orderly and transparent execution of the process, taking into account its complexity and the need to ensure legal certainty and equal conditions for all potential investors. The Bankruptcy Trustee reiterated that the framework program of the auction, which has already been approved by the court, remains in force in full.
