Last November, Turkey's pig iron imports totaled 293,461 metric tons, up 54.6 percent from October and 56.7 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports amounted to $101.07 million, an increase of 53.3 percent compared to the previous month and 37.0 percent year-on-year.
In the first 11 months of 2025, Turkey's pig iron imports totaled 2.15 million tons, an increase of 71.6 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 45.6 percent to $772.68 million, year-on-year.
Pig iron imports to Turkey - For the last 12 months
During the specified period, Russia was the largest source of pig iron imports to Turkey, which supplied 1.67 million tons, which is 105.3 percent more than last year. Russia is followed by Kazakhstan with 135,503 tons, which is 27.2 percent less, and India with 110,000 tons, which is 212.5 percent more than last year.
