India’s Welspun Corp will supply coated pipes for a natural gas pipeline network in the Permian Basin of western Texas. The order is worth $580 million, the company said on Monday, October 26.
The pipes will be made by its US subsidiary, Welspun Tubular LLC. Deliveries are expected in fiscal 2028–29.
The pipeline will supply natural gas to a data center complex operated by a major hyperscaler. Welspun Corp did not identify the company or disclose further details of the project.
Data center operators are increasingly seeking reliable natural gas supplies to power their facilities. Welspun Corp makes large-diameter welded pipes for transporting oil, gas and water. It also manufactures ductile iron pipes and pig iron at its facility in Anjar, Gujarat.
