Last November, shipments of cold-rolled sheet and strip to Japan were down five percent month-on-month and down 4.6 percent year-on-year to 357,935 metric tons. 52.8 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market and the remaining 47.2 percent to export markets, according to data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Meanwhile, in the month, Japan's inventories of CR sheets and strips rose 2.4 percent from the previous month to 678,636 metric tons and increased 3.3 percent year-on-year. 74.3 percent of inventories were held by steel producers and 25.7 percent by steel traders.
In November, Japan's CR sheet and strip production totaled 373,678 tons, down 1.9 percent month-on-month and up 4.6 percent year-on-year.
