India's INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has awarded a contract to build two air separation units (ASUs) at Tata Steel limited's Meramandali plant in the eastern state of Odisha, INOXAP said in a statement on Monday, January 19.
The project will be the first collaboration between Tata Steel limited and INOXAP, the company said.
Each of the two ASUs will have production capacity 1800 tons of oxygen per day, as well as nitrogen and argon. In addition, the plants will have rare gas production capabilities, which will enhance operational flexibility and long-term value for Tata Steel. Once operational, these facilities will play a critical role in supporting steel production at the Meramandali plant, it said.
The project will significantly strengthen INOXAP's presence in eastern India. Leveraging state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced gas separation technologies, INOXAP aims to expand its regional presence while strengthening its position as a leading producer of industrial gases in India, the company said in a statement.
