According to monthly data released by the Port of Port Hedland Authority, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 110,000 metric tons last December, down 23.9 percent from the previous month and up 91.5 percent from last year.
Meanwhile, the only destination for shipments this month was China
Port Hedland operates mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
