In particular, coal exports from the Dalrymple Bay coal terminal (DBCT) this month amounted to 6.17 million tons, which is 13.2% more than in the previous year. Meanwhile, shipments from Hay Point decreased 18.6 percent year-on-year to 3.1 million tons in December, while shipments from Abbot Point totaled 2.85 million tons, down 3.7 percent year-on-year. In addition, coal exports from the port of Gladstone increased by 14.8 percent compared to the same month in 2024 to 6.57 million tons in December.
In December, shipments from Gladstone to Japan accounted for 30.3 percent of total exports, while China, India, and South Korea accounted for 18.3 percent, 15.8 percent, and 15.3 percent, respectively.
At the same time, the total volume of coal supplies from the ports under consideration in 2025 amounted to 194.92 million tons, according to SteelOrbis.
