S. Africa's Merafe Resources reports a decrease in ferrochrome production in 2025 amid the suspension of production at the plant

South African ferrochrome producer Merafe Resources has announced its production results for the fourth quarter and the full year 2025.

In the fourth quarter, the company's ferrochrome production was 147 tons, compared with 70,000 tons for the same period in 2024, while in 2025, the total ferrochrome production fell by 62.8 percent year-on-year to 112,000 tons. This reduction in production is primarily due to the suspension of production at the company's plants due to unfavorable market conditions.
