Car sales in Turkey increased by 10.0% in 2025

In December last year, car sales in Turkey totaled 198,026 units, up 44.1 percent from November and 12.1 percent year-on-year, according to monthly statistics released by the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Turkey (OSD). In the same month, passenger car sales in Turkey totaled 146,319 units, which is 8.5% more than last year. Meanwhile, in 2025, car sales in Turkey totaled 1,413,903 units, an increase of 10.0 percent compared to the same period last year.

Last year, car exports to Turkey totaled 1,057,920 units, up 4.4 percent, while passenger car exports fell 8.3 percent to 599,687 units, year-on-year. During the same period, the country exported 330,621 low-tonnage trucks, which is 18.3 percent more than last year. In the specified period, revenues from total exports of motor vehicles and components increased by 11.1 percent to $40.83 billion, while revenues from exports of passenger cars totaled $11.77 billion, an increase of 4.3 percent year-on-year.

In December, total car imports to Turkey totaled 135,895 units, an increase of 10.3 percent year-on-year, while passenger car imports totaled 100,002 units, an increase of 6.5 percent year-on-year. In 2025, total car imports to the country amounted to 999,003 units, an increase of 11.8 percent, while passenger car imports totaled 761,273 units, an increase of 10.3 percent compared to 2024.
