According to the company's press release, its net income in October-December was $226 million, or 85 cents per share, compared to $202 million, or 76 cents per share, in the same period of the previous year. Earnings excluding one-time factors rose to $1.26 per share from $1.04 per share.
Revenue decreased slightly and amounted to $3.45 billion against $3.49 billion a year earlier.
Experts surveyed by FactSet predicted an average adjusted profit of $0.93 per paper on revenue of $3.27 billion
Alumina production in the fourth quarter increased by 1% compared to the previous three months, to 2.48 million tons. Aluminum production increased by 4% to 604 thousand tons.
