Daily steel production at CISA plants decreased by 0.9% in mid-January, stocks increased

The China Association of Ferrous Metallurgy (CISA) reported that in mid-January (January 11-20) of this year, the average daily volume of crude steel production by large and medium-sized steel mills in China - by all CISA members - amounted to 1,979 million tons, which is 0.9% less than in early January (January 1-10) of this year.

In early January, the average daily volume of crude steel production by large and medium-sized steel mills in China amounted to 1,997 million tons, which is 21.6% more than at the end of December (December 21-31) last year.

The inventory level of large and medium-sized steel mills in China has increased over the period. As of January 20, the stocks of finished steel of large and medium-sized metallurgical enterprises in China amounted to 16.13 million tons, an increase of 7.3 percent compared with January 10.
