Italian manufacturing plant Danieli has announced the award of an order from Ukrainian steel pipe and rail products manufacturer Interpipe for a new 310mm round upgrade for the No. 2 continuous casting machine at the Ukrainian manufacturer's EAF-based steel complex.
Danieli explained that its scope of supply covers detailed engineering, mechanical design and process engineering to ensure seamless integration with existing continuous casting infrastructure. Danieli noted that the new circular section was designed to support the production of high-quality steel grades while maintaining current levels of operational efficiency and reliability in Interpipe's casting operations.
The equipment manufacturer added that the upgrade is expected to be operational before the end of 2026.
