According to Taiwan's Ministry of Economy (MOEA), Taiwan's industrial production index rose 11.01 percent last December from the previous month and 21.57 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 5.80 percent month-on-month and by 18.12 percent year-on-year.
In the specified month, the volume of industrial production in the country's main metal production sector increased by 5.36 percent, while the volume of metal products increased by 11.16 percent compared to the previous month. In addition, year-on-year production in the base metals sector decreased by 9.56 percent in December, while production in the metal products sector decreased by 3.49 percent.
Meanwhile, production in Taiwan's machinery industry rose 1.60 percent in December, while production in the automotive industry declined 1.57 percent year-on-year.
