According to the American Institute of Iron and Steel (AISI), for the week ending January 24, 2026, domestic production of raw steel in the United States amounted to 1,778 million net tons, and the capacity utilization rate was 76.9 percent.
Production for the week ending January 24, 2026 increased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous week ending January 17, 2026, when production was 1.756 million net tons and capacity utilization was 75.9 percent.
For the week ended January 24, 2025, production amounted to 1,700 million net tons, and capacity utilization was 76.3 percent. Production this week represents an increase of 4.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Adjusted production from the beginning of the year to January 24, 2026 amounted to 6.016 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 75.9 percent. This is 3.4 percent more than 5.819 million net tons in the same period last year, when the capacity utilization rate was 76.3 percent.
