According to the Chinese customs authorities, in 2025, the import and export of stainless steel to China amounted to 1.5192 million tons and 5.0311 million tons, which increased by 19.09 percent and 0.26 percent year-on-year, respectively.
In December alone, China's stainless steel imports and exports totaled 145,000 tons, and in 2025, China's net stainless steel exports totaled 3.5119 million tons, up 11.9 percent from last year.
In December last year, this year's imports of stainless steel scrap to China totaled 11,800 tons, down 23.8 percent from the previous month, but up 20.57 percent year-on-year. In 2025, imports of stainless steel scrap to China amounted to 120,100 tons, which is 23.48 percent more than last year.
