Monthly steel exports in September this year rose 11.4 percent from August and fell 13.0 percent year over year to 600,377 tons, according to U.S. Commerce Department export data. In value terms, U.S. steel exports totaled $1.05 billion in September, up from $1.12 billion in August and $1.19 billion in September last year.
Steel exports to Mexico in September were up 12.7 percent from August and down 17.4 percent year-over-year to 322,959 tons, while exports to Canada were up 10.0 percent month-on-month calculus and decreased. Up 2.7 percent from September last year to 238,191 tons
Other top U.S. steel export destinations in September included China with 4,516 tons, India with 2,317 tons and the Bahamas with 1,926 tons
Major steel products exported in September included 104,902 tons of HDG, hot-rolled sheets - 49,075 t, cut steel sheets - 86,044 t, cold-rolled sheets - 49,334 t, sheets in coils - 22,567 t
