The UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has initiated a review of tariff quotas (TRQ) applied to certain steel products subject to protective measures. The review for the period from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025 concerns steel products that are currently subject to UK protective measures that expire in June 2026.
Categories of products in question
The review focuses on two specific product categories:
- Category 4 is a metal-coated sheet with codes 7210.61 and 7210.69.
- Category 7 is Quarto plate (non-alloy and other alloy steel) under codes 7208.51 and 7208.52.
The purpose of the review is to determine whether specific product codes should be excluded from the scope of existing protective measures applied to these categories.
The TRA is expected to release its statement of intent to make a decision in early February, with any conclusions taking effect on April 1.
