India's APTL to double its structural steel production capacity by 2030

India's APL Apollo Tubes Limited (APTL), a leading manufacturer of structural steel, will double its capacity to 10 million tons per year from 5 million tons currently by 2030 through multiple expansion projects, the company said in a statement on Wednesday, January 28.

The company's expansion roadmap includes five new production facilities in Gorakhpur (200,000 tons), Siliguri (300,000 tons), Bhuj (300,000 tons), New Malur (600,000 tons) and Raipur (600,000 tons).

Along with the expansion of new facilities, APL Apollo is adding one million metric tons through plant expansion and modernization initiatives. This includes replacing conventional mills with faster and more efficient equipment to increase throughput and productivity. It is expected that a detailed plan for the implementation of these initiatives will be outlined over the next year, the company said in a statement. However, the company does not disclose investment data.
