Ukrainian metallurgists will work on the domestic market if 380 billion hryvnias are spent on them

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov expects that the implementation of measures provided for by the program for the activation of economic development for 2013-2014 will reduce domestic manufacturers of metal distribution to the domestic market. He told about this today at an expanded meeting of the government.

The total assessment of the cost of the activation program is about 380 billion UAH that will be taken from state and local budgets, received from international financial organizations, transferred to the oligarchs through the state guarantee mechanism and, as the Prime Minister emphasized by stimulating private investment and using his own means of missile defense systems.

“The financial resource, which can be involved in the implementation of the program, is unprecedented in modern Ukrainian history,” said Nikolai Azarov.

For these considerable money, according to the Prime Minister, residents of Ukraine will see the annual GDP growth of 3% at least and a decrease in its level of energy intensity by 1.5%. He also noted that in 2014 the growth in the production of machine-building products will reach 10%, while the growth of manufacturing of metal products at the country's metallurgical enterprises in 2013 will be at 1.5%at 1.5%

Meanwhile, it is planned to provide an increase in the consumption of ferrous metals by updating the rolling stock and infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia - up to 480 thousand tons, modernization and reconstruction of housing and communal services - up to 420 thousand tons, the development of road infrastructure - up to 360 thousand tons and during the construction and reconstruction of fuel and energy facilities - up to 380 thousand thousand thousand thousand tons.

The government will consider proposals for the program for activating economic development for 2013-2014 from the opposition. Now the Cabinet of Ministers is waiting for proposals announced by representatives of the opposition, the Cabinet said in a statement.

As we have already reported, in early February, under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a working group was formed in the responsibilities of which includes analysis and study of the issuance of state support to enterprises of the mining and metallurgical industry, consideration of problematic issues and preparing recommendations for their resolution, promoting coordination of the work of enterprises in order to prevent reduction of production volumes and others.
