Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 1.4 percent in 2025

According to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year, Turkey's wire rod exports totaled 77,453 metric tons, an increase of 26.1 percent compared to November and a decrease of 39.1 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, revenue from these exports amounted to $43.99 million, an increase of 27.9% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 41.2% year-on-year.

In 2025, wire rod exports to Turkey amounted to 907,314 tons, which is 1.4 percent less, while the value of these exports decreased by 7.5 percent to $518.93 million, year-on-year.

During the specified period, Romania was the largest export destination of wire rod to Turkey, which received 306,747 tons, which is 2.2 percent less compared to the same period last year. Romania was followed by Bulgaria with 76,957 tons, down 5.8 percent from last year, and Australia with 70,857 tons, down 11.4 percent from 2024.
