Last December, exports of hot rolled steel (HRC) to Turkey totaled 206,709 metric tons, up 38.3 percent from November and down 6.2 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, revenue from these exports amounted to $116.31 million, an increase of 39.5% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 7.1% year-on-year.
In 2025, Turkey's HRC exports totaled 2.85 million tons, an increase of 23.4 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 12.2 percent to $1.65 billion, compared with 2024.

This year, Italy was the largest export destination of HRC to Turkey with 834,196 tons, which is 16.7 percent more than in the previous year. Italy is followed by Spain with 412,475 tons, which is 60.8% more, and Portugal with 238,958 tons, which is 114% more compared to 2024.
