In 2025, China's weighted average purchasing costs for coking coal, metallurgical coke, domestically produced iron ore, imported iron ore and ferrous scrap decreased by 27.32%, 24.36%, 6.26%, 7.26% and 9.94% year on year, respectively, as announced by China Iron and Steel Industry Association (CISA).
Last December, weighted average purchasing costs for coking coal and imported iron ore increased by 0.09% and 0.23%, respectively, while weighted average purchasing costs for metallurgical coke, Chinese iron ore (on a dry basis) and ferrous scrap decreased by 0.35%, 0.18% and 1.39% respectively on a monthly basis.
