The Russian metallurgical plant "Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works" (MMK) announced the launch of production of a new type of high-strength weldable reinforcement brand A600C. This step marks another step in MMK's strategy to expand the range of value-added construction steels adapted to complex infrastructure and construction tasks.
The compliance of A600S reinforcement with GOST 34028 has been officially confirmed by the certification body RosStroyTest.
The issued certificate of conformity applies to reinforcement with a diameter of 10 mm in coils and rebar with a diameter of 12-32 mm in rods. This certification allows products to be supplied to projects requiring strict adherence to Russian construction and materials standards.
Higher mechanical properties than A500C fittings
The key advantage of A600C fittings is its improved mechanical properties, including:
- a higher limit yield,
- increased tensile strength and
- improved elongation properties.
Compared with the widely used A500C reinforcement, the higher strength class allows for lower steel consumption in reinforced concrete structures, increasing material efficiency without compromising structural safety.
