The Central Bank of Chile reported that the country's economy grew by 1.7 percent in December 2025 compared with December 2024, as indicated by the IMACEC index.
Production of goods fell by 0.9 percent, mining fell by 8.1 percent, manufacturing grew by 2.0 percent, trade activity increased by 6.6 percent, and the services grew by 2.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, the IMACEC index decreased by 0.6 percent from November to December 2025.
During this period, the production of goods increased by 0.8 percent, mining decreased by 1.0 percent, manufacturing increased by 1.5 percent, trading activity increased by 2.3 percent, and the services sector increased by 0.2 percent.
The services sector was the main driver of the index's growth, adding 0.9 percentage points to the overall growth of 1.7 percent, followed by trading activities, which added 0.4 percentage points. The negative impact on mining activity was 0.8 percentage points.
The Monthly Index of Economic Activity (IMACEC) serves as an indicator of changes in Chile's gross domestic product (GDP).
