The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported that at the end of January (January 21-31) this year, the average daily production of crude steel by large and medium-sized steel mills in China - all members of CISA - was 1.935 million tons, down 2.2% compared with mid-January (January 11-20) this year.
In mid-January, the average daily production crude steel by large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China amounted to 1.979 million tons, down 0.9% compared to the beginning of January (January 1-10) of this year.
Inventory levels of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China decreased during the period. As of January 31, finished steel inventories of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China amounted to 14.71 million tons, a decrease of 8.8% compared to January 20.
