Production in the French steel industry increased by 1.6 percent in December 2025 compared with November

According to statistics released by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Research (INSEE), French output increased by 0.3 percent month-on-month in December last year, following a 0.7 percent decline in November last year. In the October-December quarter, French output increased by 1.8 percent year-on-year and 0.1 percent quarter-on-quarter.

In December, the production of base metals and finished metal products in France, excluding machinery and equipment, increased by 1.6 percent month-on-month after declining by 1.4 percent in the previous month.

On the other hand, in December, the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers in France increased by 1.5 percent year-on-year after an increase of 2.9 percent month-on-month in the previous month, while the production of the domestic construction industry increased by 2.2 percent month-on-month in this month after a decrease of 0.7 percent in November compared to since October. In October-December, the production volume of the domestic construction industry decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the previous quarter.
