According to Danieli, the upgraded line will be designed to produce wire rods from 4.5mm to 25 mm in diameter with a maximum sustained rolling speed of 110 m/s. The upgraded reinforcement mill line is expected to start operating in the second half of 2026.
The manufacturer noted that its scope of work covers the design and installation of new rolling lines, the integration of automation and process control systems, as well as the modernization of the existing rolling mill configuration and finishing equipment. After modernization, the plant will be able to produce a wide range of low-alloy and special grades of steel.
The manufacturer emphasized that the project will be implemented in several stages to limit shutdown periods, ensuring smooth integration with current equipment and planned operations of Abul Khair Steel.
